JACKIE BROWN
Jackie Brown is een stewardess die haar schamele inkomen probeert aan te zuiveren door zwart geld het land in te smokkelen voor wapenhandelaar Ordell. Wanneer Jackie op het vliegveld wordt aangehouden door de FBI hangt haar een forse gevangenisstraf boven het hoofd. Tenzij ze bereid is de politie te helpen om Ordell achter tralies te krijgen. Samen met de sympathieke Max smeedt Jackie een roekeloos plan. Daarbij wil ze de politie én Ordell tegen elkaar uitspelen om zelf met een half miljoen dollar aan de haal te gaan. Maar Ordells medeplichtigen Louis en Melanie hebben andere plannen en zorgen voor tal van complicaties…

A crime drama with a nonlinear storyline, the film is known for its rich, eclectic dialogue, its ironic mix of humor and violence, and its host of cinematic and pop culture references. The film was nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Picture; Tarantino and Avary won for Best Original Screenplay. It was also awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
